Leading the Way
Gaulhofer is an industry leader in material selection, manufacturing and finishing, as well as waste management.
We use local Austrian wood grown in sustainably managed forests and chosen for its strength, stability and ability to withstand extreme hot and cold weather conditions. Wood scraps left over from the manufacturing process are either used for heat or shipped to paper mill to make pulp.
Our aluminum cladding and metal hardware is made from recycled metal. We recycle all metal scraps left over from the manufacturing process.
We use a water-borne finish that is environmentally friendly and prepares our windows and doors for a long life. And we were the first company in Europe to use an overspray curtain that collects and re-uses the excess finish.
Our products are extremely energy efficient, and we are constantly refining our design, engineering and production processes to push the limits of energy savings. In fact, we work closely with Germany’s Rosenheim Institute of Window Technologies to continually raise the European standards for energy efficiency.
At the end of the day, we build a product that – by design – will last for generations: the true measure of sustainability.
